Hello everyone here on DeviantART and elsewhere, thank you for tuning in at the tiniest minutiae. I hope everyone is doing excellent like ever, same goes for myself. It's been last year since the rumors of the possible sequel to the 1996 Looney Tune-Sports film Space Jam have spread out all over in the media and gotten viral meanwhile. It was supposed to star NBA all-stars for this generation, notably Lebron James was gonna be the main character of the entire sequel, and it will also star Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Yao Ming etc. and they were rumored to become the new Monstars or a completely different set of villains. It was believed to have gone into production as what we've heard that Warner Bros announced a sequel, hiring the Ebersol Brothers to write, [roduce and possibly direct. Things begun to get more exciting until there were reports indicating that the entire thing of Space Jam 2 actually happening was just a rumor. However, when Lebron James was praised for his acting in the movie Trainwreck, Lebron signed a deal for Warner Bros. for Digital media, comics, movies and television and it is likely that Space Jam 2 will be going into production soon.

Now if it actually does happen, it is very likely that Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang are gonna appear as the supporting characters, but what about the other Looney Tune? The one that is strong and self-reliant and seductive in her behavior? That character is the one and only, Lola Bunny. Lola Bunny was supposed to be another female Looney Tune to join the crew because the people had believed the company "needed" another female Looney Tune character since they're not that many girl characters in the Looney Tunes. The way how Lola Bunny executed in Space Jam is how we would obviously expect, she didn't have all of the screen time she needed to fully develop her character since it's her debut, there are no exceptions for her to be funny, interesting, regulative etc. It's one of the main causes that Lola Bunny got criticized for. People, and especially the fans of the Looney Tunes had mixed feelings for Lola Bunny on the movie. People who were interested in Lola Bunny praised for her character, despite her very short screen time, they way how she's shown herself to be independent and self-reliant; not being liked to be called "doll" and having to crush a monstar actually gives out impact to sportswomen to always act strong, no matter how big and tough boys and girls are, anything they would talk trash to you and treat you like a fool are not gonna get away with it and the bravery of the victim will end up striking back the perpetrator. Another notable inspiration to Lola Bunny was women playing sports (commonly Basketball) was another thing they got into. I remember a good friend of mine who is on her 10th year of playing basketball, she always hated basketball all because people talk trash to you like it's nothing, but after watching Lola Bunny on Space Jam and the way her character was used, actually made her getting into basketball, and trust me, if anybody else trash talked about her playing basketball, she will tear you up, haha.  However, the main thing she's badly inspired of is the numerous fetish art of Lola Bunny.  Even Chuck Jones predicted that she will be a "nightmare of perverted artists" this would happen to her. While I am a huge fan of Lola Bunny, both original and The Looney Tunes Show version, I can only say it's not a big deal if they make about a hundred pictures of her being naked or any other graphical fetish related pictures she's dragged into. It especially goes to everybody who's extremely sensitive over that stuff. I'm not trying to defend them at all, because I was too unhinged about all of the "artists" making pictures of her butt, or making pictures of her naked etc. Then I am aware that surprisingly enough, she's definitely not the only character to end up like this, people have done the same to Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Pepe Le Pew, and even The Looney Tunes Show version of Lola. Anything that we make or being put out there is always gonna catch the artist's eye to make a fetish picture relating to the object we put out in public. It's like if I put out my original Character Sean the Squirrel out in public, he's gonna end up like that too, but it's not gonna surprise me anymore. Now for the people who harshly ate her alive was that they claim that she "had no personality" or "she was just there to be a love interest for Bugs Bunny".  Which I'm afraid to tell those people this is that it's not exactly true. Sure thing she's there to be a girlfriend of Bugs Bunny, but most commonly every main character in any series is bound to have a love character in the future or when it's made for the first time. I know the "Main character gets a love interest" is probably too cliche now, only if it really works. Now her character though is the main complaint, it's not true that she has no personality, I know it's probably hard to believe by a lot of you, but surprisingly enough that even though she was only shown in 4 minuets of the movie, she did show her reliance and independence when she outsmarted Bugs after he called her doll, same thing with the Monstar who called her it, she just leaped on him and kicked his face flat and made the dunk like it was nothing. What about when she was helpless that a monstar was getting ready to smash her and Bugs had o save her? Well, news flash, it's a character flaw. She's a "Damsel in distress", kind of like how Daphne from Scooby-Doo! would always end up stuck at the situation to where she had to have Shaggy or Fred to come save her. Even she may be strong and reliant to her behavior, no matter how tough she is, she will always need a hand from anybody at some point. Another obvious trait is her femme fatale character, there's no explanation to that, instead she was really trying to go for a character that is aimed towards the character Minerva Mink from Animaniacs have. She's another character who is a femme fatale, but can be a little quirky, and Lola Bunny only had a couple of quirky moments in the movie, one is the ending of the movie where Bugs Bunny kissed her, Lola howled in a hilarity gait, may not be much though, and another where she made that strange happy expression when Bill Murray showed up to play for the team. The major complaint about Lola Bunny is that she wasn't funny, because Looney Tunes have to be funny, but unfortunately, she's not really supposed to be funny, and that don't mean she can't be a Looney Tune. People tend to forget that lot of the Looney Tune characters were really not that hilarious or interesting to begin with. Bugs Bunny's debut actually gave the viewers disbelief the character was no good because of the little time he had in the short, the way he appeared more often made his character developed more through out the years. Tasmanian Devil only was funny for about three seconds, there was really nothing special or interesting Taz is with the destruction personality he had, but the way he's made more appearances with the same exact uninteresting character made people become appreciated with it and is considered a Looney Tune. There are other honorable mentions of other Looney Tune characters with bland personalities and not good enough to be a Looney Tune such as Miss Prissy, Penelope Pussycat, Porky Pig, Melissa Duck, etc. Those are all Looney Tune characters that had personalities that are not funny enough to be a Looney Tune, but when they appeared more, they became Looney Tunes regards what kind of character they had. Personally, that's what Looney Tunes were pretty much were to me. Is that mostly Looney Tune characters are wacky, boring, unfunny, uninteresting character traits or not even goofy in the first place. The more they show that character, the bigger Looney Tune they become.

I know there's probably a lot of you are saying "Oh Lola is already respected when she was on The Looney Tunes Show" or "There's no need for Space Jam Lola because the Lola from the show is praised by everybody". That's not exactly the case. The point is Classic Lola needs to be shown in the media more often so that her character can develop more to where she can become a Looney Tune. If Lola was still the Lola in Space Jam, because of the small time she had the people who say that she has no character will still remain the same thing and so changes to that will be made, maybe they could have Lola as the main role so that she's always there and her character will shine through. Now her voice actress, will it be Kristen Wiig? Will it be Rachel Ramras? Will it be Grey Delisle? Or will it be her original voice actress Kath Soucie? My likely answer is Kath Soucie. The way I see how Kath Soucie's voice fits for Lola is that, unlike Rachel Ramras and Kristen Wiig, she can come up a different voice for a character, and the common point about voicing a cartoon character is you have to sound different from yourself, because if it's just a character being voiced by a voice that sounds exactly like yourself, it can look like that you've put no effort into making yourself develop a voice for the character and Kath Soucie actually did put her soul into making a voice for Lola Bunny. Lastly is if it's not Space Jam Lola returning for 2, would it be The Looney Tunes Show Lola? Unfortunately while I do like both versions, it'll be unlikely for her to return since the movie Looney Tunes: Rabbit's Run , the Lola with the TLTS persona begun to get repetitive to viewers.

So, you think Space Jam Lola deserves a much bigger and second chance? My answer is a big, colossal, yes. Yes. Yes. Yes and more Yes. Prove to everyone that she has a character.... or will have a character.

Thank you very much everyone and I hope all of you have a great day! I'll upload more art in the meantime.

This picture of Lola Bunny is dedicated to the article giving out a synopsis that the original Lola Bunny from the movie should really be in Space Jam 2 and to be shown in the media by the company a lot more often.
